CA 19-9 is a tumour marker used in the diagnosis of pancreatic, colon or rectal cancer, to monitor treatment and to detect recurrence. Elevated levels of this marker also occur in inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract, but are significantly lower than in people with cancer.
